A woman of courage, compassion and love.

I am the first to admit that I am not very good at blogging. My spelling is atrocious, and my grammar is not much better. I tend to repeat my adjectives a lot when describing my clients and their special events, although I truly mean what I write. I tend to keep my personal life and work separate, but some stories are worth sharing. Two weeks ago I said goodbye to my beloved grandma. It has been a really tough and emotional summer watching my granny’s health rapidly decline. My grandma was diagnosed with metastasized breast cancer three years ago. Over the years she went through multiple rounds of chemotherapy, and also radiation. She was so TOUGH, and never complained. She remained completely independent until the last month of her life. When you asked her how she felt, she would cheerfully say, ” I feel GREAT!”  She lost her hair, she grew back her hair, and she lost it again. At the end, I thought her hair never looked better. She had a full head of hair, white like an angel.  It was beautiful.  This summer, I put my family first. I took time away from my editing to be with my grandma at the hospital and then at hospice, and I want to thank all my clients for being so understanding and patience. My grandma was the kind of grandma who was ALWAYS there. She came to all my birthday parties, special events, award ceremonies… the list goes on and on. Most importantly, everyday my grandma made sure that I knew how much she loved me, how proud she was of me, and how talented she thought I was (yes she was a bit bias). She made me feel special, always. I have a void in my heart now that she is gone. A sadness that I still feel. However I also have so much gratitude to have been so blessed with having a woman in my life like Carolyne Freidin. Her courage, love for life and compassion will never be forgotten by the many friends and families member she left behind. She truly was my inspiration, and her spirit will continue to inspire the work that I do.
